Love the staff and the food is amazing! You won't just get bar food here. I have never had anything bad. I advise everyone to go and try it at least once because u will be back again and again. And the prices are great

I like this place. Simple but good. I went for lunch and the burger was good. Service was excellent.

I can see this place has an average of 4 stars (so far) and I think that is a fair rating. It's definitely a solid 4 star pub/grille, and I'm a fan of the place in general. I've been here a dozen or more times since moving into East Providence a year ago. It has a nice bar area, with bar seating plus 3 high-top tables that can seat 4 each. There is additional seating with a dozen or so tables separated by a half-wall from the bar and high-top area. There are TV's, usually with sports or news throughout, and Keno at the bar. There's generally a nice atmosphere and it's a little bigger than it looks from the street. However the parking lot is small, so just aim for curb-side parking out front if you can. The food here is great. They have a solid 4 page menu, with various American pub-grub, plus seafood/pasta dishes, plus Portuguese dishes, and they actually do them all pretty well. They also have a constantly changing specials menu slipped in the regular menu, which has had some tasty and pleasant surprises a couple of times. There are a lot of nice Portuguese restaurants in East Providence so it doesn't surprise me this pub has a Portuguese flair to it. (they have a killer "Portuguese Steak" on the menu, comes with a fried egg on top of your steak and fries, and goes great with a beer, mmm) They have solid burgers, a good grilled chicken wrap, an awesome steak tip with blue cheese and onions wrap. They have huge stuffies and huge crispy bacon potato skins on the appetizer menu, just to name some things. Their seafood dishes can be hit or miss. I had scallops and Italian sausage with red diavlo sauce one time that was great, while another time a Shrimp and Alfredo dish came out bland and tasteless. But generally most dishes here will be pretty good. One thing that can make this place frustrating can be the slow service. Once on a mid-week visit we were seated quickly and the place was fairly busy, but not insane. However the staff were slow and the waitresses kept disappearing into the kitchen (maybe they were cooking too? lol) to the point where patrons were waiting by the kitchen door to order a drink or get their check. I've also had snail-paced service at the bar a couple times as well, in the afternoon when the bartender is the only one working. In spite of a couple minor short-comings this is a solid neighborhood pub and grill. And the food you get will generally knock the socks off of chain places, specially if you like Portuguese steaks, beer, and pub grub with sports and keno. This is a good local place.

Haven't eaten anything from RBT in over 10 years. My husband and I decided to finally give this place a shot after so long. I stopped there on a whim and ordered our takeout meals with EXTREMELY low expectations!!!!! I was not disappointed! Ordered 2 "build your own burgers" a 4 oz with Gorgonzola cheese, bacon, onions and mushrooms & a fries also a 8 oz with cheese, bacon, chili and onions & a side of onion rings. My husband went in and paid for the food ($24) and was told the wait would be about 25 mins. 15 mins later the waitress comes out to our car and hands us our food...that was very sweet of her! That made the experience 5 stars right there. We get home and the foot was still piping hot and absolutely delicious!!!! I have never had such a tasty burger in my life. I will for sure order from RBT again! Try this place out, you will not be disappointed!

Food and atmosphere are top notch, I had never been here before but I'll def come back next time I'm in this area!!

Well, I started out with low expectations...The decor (or lack thereof) could use updating, but I guess it is all part of the charm. They offer Keno... it's THAT kind of place. The hostess was very apologetic for the high traffic area two top, where we were located. The server was very friendly. Unfortunately, I was disappointed that they ran out of the lobster roll, which was the reason for the trip. However, the food was good. Their take on the "Cobb" was good, but not really a Cobb. The vegetarian chili was delicious. And the bread basket was amazing; including the corn bread, which I usually don't like. I will give it another shot next summer, when I hope they will have the lobster roll back in stock!

I came here for a quick bite with my dad. Saw the reviews and thought it would be a good place to go in this neighborhood. The food was very bland and oily. I felt pretty gross after finishing half my sandwich. My dad felt the same way about his. I'm guessing it's an okay place to go as a neighborhood bar, but not for food. The wait for the food was also a little longer than I would've liked. I would say about 30 minutes after we put our orders in did we see the waitress with our food.

The Red Bridge Tavern has become a regular stop for the bf and I ever since we stopped in briefly a couple years ago for a beer on a bar hopping birthday event. Having received a subsequent recommendation for their food, there was no choice but to truly see what this place was all about. Described as a hidden gem in East Providence, word is certainly getting around in the area. I try to come here on off-nights as this restaurant/bar is jammin' on the weekends. Named for the nearby Henderson Bridge (a.k.a. The Red Bridge), this location serves up a great deal of comfort foods and tasty brews. Most of the dishes I've had here have been wonderful. A couple of misses here or there but you're bound to find a few as you work your way through a menu. On one occasion I was even refunded for my meal as I had found it to be a bit flavorless for my taste (the Shrimp Scampi fyi). But don't let this deter you. Some of my favorite dishes include the Potato Skins, Chicken & Broccoli Alfredo, BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwich, and Baked Mac N' Cheese. I am told that their Stuffie appetizer is well worth the money. In addition to their standard menu, there are daily handwritten specials inserts to peruse as well. They usually have a decent selection on tap at the bar. Whether your sitting in the dining room, at a high top, or at the bar itself, the service is efficient. You can play keno, catch a game, or socialize with friends. No foul language though, as the signs behind the bar indicate :-P. They have a pool table in a room adjacent to the dining room. I've never used it but its a nice option to have on a slow evening. Nothing fancy to the interior... not that it matters since my experience overall is always an enjoyable one. Great restaurant for either lunch or dinner!

We had been here a few times before and Saturday night we went with a few friends. This place isn't much to look at inside but the food and service has always been solid. They have a full bar with a decent draft selection and the mixed drinks were fairly potent. We started with chili nachos and buffalo tenders. The nachos were huge and loaded. The buffalo tenders were tasty and not greasy. For my meal I had the black and blue salad, which was loaded with sirloin tips and blue cheese. Others at the table had a chipotle chicken wrap, that had tons of chicken in it, sirloin tips and salmon. Thumbs up all around. I would recommend giving this place a try if you are in the area. I know I'll be back.

Came to Red Bridge for lunch. I had the tuna steak over a ceaser salad with corn salsa. It was delicious, tuna was seared to perfection and the greens were fresh and tasteful. Portion was ample and dressing was just right. Wife had a turkey club which was toasted just right with fresh turkey and generously proportioned with french fries and a pickle on the side. Service was quick, pleasant and attentive. If your ever in east providence I recommend. Only drawback is off street parking lot is small and fills up quick leaving you to have to park on the street.

I'm hesitant to let the cat out of the bag on this one. The Red Bridge Tavern is my little hidden gem right over the Henderson (or Red) Bridge in East Providence. It's a little mom and pop tavern -- everyone who works there is part of the family. And yes, it is indeed a place where everybody knows your name. The menu here is nothing particularly innovative, but it doesn't matter. It's plain old good American food. The bread basket is wonderful -- it usually arrives warm with a mix of incredibly moist corn bread and a crusty white bread that you'll want to save if you order the steamers, which you should. The burgers are sooo juicy, and you can choose between a 5 or 8 oz, and choose your own toppings. Did I mention they're only five bucks (plus toppings)? The real draw to Red Bridge are the daily specials. While it's usually socially unacceptable to put more than two amazing and artery clogging items in the same dish, such foolish mores do not apply here. I believe the last time I dined at Red Bridge, I got the steak tip and fried scallop combo with grilled asparagus. A mountain of food arrived for only $13. Another memorable trip involved a burger with candied bacon, gorgonzola, spinach, and barbecue sauce with sweet potato fries on the side. Yeah, they go there. You should too.

I had a decent Greek salad with a couple of drafts. The salad was good, the drafts (Sam Adams and Bass) were so-so.

The Red Bridge Tavern is like a ray of sunshine in a busy life. We go there for dinner at least twice a week, sometimes 3 or 4 times. The food is absolutely delicious. The owners Manny and Lucy work there almost every day, Manny in the kitchen and Lucy working at the bar or waiting tables. My favorite dish is the caesar salad with blackened shrimp. The shrimp is always fresh and not over-cooked. The spice that they use is great. They always have daily specials, sandwiches served with home made potato chips are a big hit. They serve bread to everyone, a basket filled with a delicious crusty italian bread and home made corn bread. We fight over the corn bread at my table! "The Bridge" is a great local restaurant with great food and great staff.

I'm not telling... This is one of my secret places. Order an 8 oz. burger with Gorgonzola, bacon, and caramelized onions with onion rings. Freakin' Awesome.

Ok, reading the reviews of this place, I expected better. The good: Waitstaff was friendly, beer here was decent selection. The not as good: There was hardly anyone there, which always worries me. The food was just mediocre. I had ribs, which were not all that tender, the bbq sauce tasted like it was out of a bottle, good, but not different. I think I was simply hoping for more from a little place not far from me. Try this place out just to yelp about it, but don't expect the world.

Hidden gem with awesome food and great prices. Great Portuguese selections. I had only been a few times when I was younger only to drink. It wasn't until recently that I discovered how awesome the food is. The atmosphere is nothing fancy. On weekends at peak times it's filled with families and diverse groups of people. Service is always great as well. They have a bar area and a dining area so you get the best of both worlds. And if you have the gambling itch they have KENO. Always a sign of a good bar.

We have tried the Red Bridge Tavern twice, once for lunch and once for takeout. Both times the staff were friendly, quick, and helpful. We tried the cheeseburgers and turkey burgers - both were fresh, piping hot, and delicious. The regular fries and sweet potato fries were also served hot and were tasty. Well worth a visit for dining-in or takeout.

We have eaten here a few times now. Each time we go the food is great. We have had just the burgers and full meals. The wait staff treated us great and was very help full when we were trying to decide what was good to order. We will keep going back and we hope the staff and food continue the 5star rating we gave them.

Met a few people here for drinks/apps and it was decent. Not terribly crowded on a Saturday night. In short, staff was very nice, but drinks were a little pricey for what it is - a little local pub style watering hole. $9 for a small pile of buffalo wings seemed a bit steep, and they were just OK. I'd go back if it was called as the meeting place again, but probably not going to be a regular here.

.....To people my age this is Crawshaws of the 60s, just for location. It's been the Red Bridge Tavern for years but not a place I frequented ( in the past ) because of the often loud and unsavory bar denizens. I returned several months ago, mainly because the place has returned to the I-dine/ air miles programs. And found a substantial change. Although at some times the bar is quite crowded, the excitement generated is not offensive to diners. So there's my opinionated rationale. Substance wise now, the physical bar area, and actually the entire public area, is a throwback to 1950s (Gameroom) meaning the entire place; walls, ceiling, moldings, are made of varnished Knotty Pine. There is a large bar with about 20 stools, adjacent to a seperate area with several multi seat high tops, then an open but well seperated dining area, often populated by couples and families with children. Additionally, there is a seperate glassed in dining area with a door which is used for overflow dining but could be a small function or meeting room if privacy was desired. Bartenders seem friendly and know all the regulars. Waitstaff are all young, helpful and efficient and give the impression of being family or friends of family. Food runs from burgers and sandwiches to whole meals; fish, chicken, steak, Italian, Portuguese. There are always multiple daily specials. I really like the ribs but last time had Chicken Parm and had to bring half home. Beer list could use a little augmenting with only a few on tap but it's adequate. Same for the wine but prices are fair, there's always something to choose from and you're really not coming here to sample exotic wines anyway. Kitchen open quiet late! Tiny parking lot but plenty of on-street parking. What I want to come across is that this is a fine place to stop for a drink on the way home from work or go out to watch the game after dinner. A nice, inexpensive place for couples and a great place to bring the family where the children can have an inexpensive but better experience than fast food and mom and dad can have a drink or wine without blowing the budget. A GREAT NEIGHBORHOOD RESTAURANT.

I love this place. Its got huge tvs and good food that comes out fast. I think the salads are big with tasty toppings, my fav is the honey mustard chicken with the balsamic drizzle. The chowder is good classic rhodie style. Its a nice place to hang and have some drinks and chill for a while. It's my go to spot.

This place is a typical Pub grub type of place. The difference, it is very well done. It has a neighborhood feel and a lot of people at the bar seem to know each other or the staff pretty well. The interior is dated but homey. One thing I noticed, that a lot of people were laughing, always a good sign. I had a juicy bacon cheeseburger - came out just the way I like it! Friends had an assortment of sandwiches, all like what they were serving. I guess my best review would be that this place is a "pretty good bet" for lunch.

Just had my first visit here after hearing several recommendations. My wife and I were not disappointed. The first thing that stood out was how warm the restaurant was. I'm not referring to the temperature, but how welcoming and comfortable it felt. It really has the feel of that "great neighborhood restaurant" and it did not disappoint. Our server was really friendly and helpful. I made an off hand comment about how good another side dish looked and she came back a few seconds later (after checking first) to see if I wanted that. My wife and I both ordered from the specials, but several items on the regular menu grabbed our interest as well. Everything was cooked perfectly, and was delicious. I can't say enough great things about this restaurant. It won't remain a secret for long.

Walked in here randomly, not sure what to expect. The atmosphere is pretty straight forward, for lack of a better description and I nearly turned back. But don't be fooled by appearances! The food here is awesome and so well priced we will definitely be coming back! We split an order of eggplant fries which were absolutely delicious! A generous portion of perfectly fried melt-in-your-mouth goodness with a side of flavorful marinara. Also had the vegetarian nachos! Best nachos I have had in a while, tons of toppings, and again dirt cheap. The specials menu looked promising, and I can't wait to try some of their seafood dishes next time I'm back.

Love this place. Little whole in the wall but great food. Usually order the same thing, which is the Chipotle Burger (gonna order one right now) However, on the days I feel adventurous, I still order something delicious. Definitely worth a stop!

I took a year off due to my last experience and...Red Bridge is back to 5-stars! Service was perfect, my RBT burger was cooked perfectly, and I thought my wife was crazy to order the Pork Osso Bucco but good gosh that was an incredible piece of pork. After I ate my burger I finished off her pork and was in heaven. I also had a cup of the white chowder as an appetizer and it was excellent. Thanks Red Bridge, I'm back to being a regular here!

Two words: onion rings. I could eat piles of them! Crispy, flavorful, not greasy and always satisfying. This is an unassuming place with a straightforward menu, but who ever is in the kitchen knows what they're doing. I've had their burgers, reuben sandwich - both the regular one from the menu, plus a special veggie version they'll make replacing the meat with sautéed spinach - chicken sandwiches, chowder, fries, and onion rings (lots). All have been satisfying, cooked well and reasonably priced. We usually go for lunch and most of the time the one waitress is handling both the tables and the bar. While not the speediest service, she's always been friendly and accommodating and clearly working hard, so I'm OK with a leisurely lunch. Can still get in and out of there in an hour, so it's all good.

The ribeye steak sandwich with fries was amazing! So juicy, with perfectly sauteed mushrooms and onions. Yum. The wife had little neck over angel hair and loved it. Thank you, Yelpers, for steering us to this hidden gem in E. Prov!

Stopped in here for a quick lunch while on the road for work. Found out about it on Yelp and decided to go based on the good reviews. There was no wait and it was a seat-yourself situation which was nice. We sat right down and were promptly greeted by a nice waitress who brought us place settings and offered to get us some drinks. We just ordered water and proceeded to order our lunch. I got a turkey club on wheat bread with a side salad with balsamic vinaigrette. My coworker ordered the chicken pesto sandwich and the same salad. The salads came out very quickly and were quite substantial. Soon after I finished my salad, our sandwiches arrived. The club was delicious, maybe a little light on the lettuce but the bread was perfectly toasted and the turkey was flavorful and moist. The chicken pesto sandwich, though I didn't taste it myself, looked and smelled delicious as well. My coworker affirmed my suspicions. All in all, great place to grab a quick tasty bite for lunch. Fast service, good food, convenient location.

I've been a few times and it's good. Not fantastic but not bad. Great place for a few drinks and maybe an appetizer or small bite. Their chips which are like slices of fried potatoes are really good. Parking is small and usually full but u can park on the street but be careful because it's a busy road.

The food is delicious with good portions. Lots of choices, and nice family run atmosphere! Burgers are excellent, and food is reasonably priced. There are a few TVs around for sports viewing. Great local spot!

  • Katie L.

Good solid food in a low key atmosphere... Started with the calamari....was a bit surprised that the roasted red peppers and banana peppers were served on the side? It was still delicious but strange. I had the steak sandwich that had lots of cheese and onions on top! The sweet potato fries were decent but again different from the last time we went. The steak itself was tender and slightly pink. Very good! The man had the Portuguese steak and said it was better than a local Portuguese restaurant ! He actually asked for seconds on bread because he wanted to soak up all the juices on his plate! The waitress was quick with a refill and very pleasant. Great place to grab a bite, watch sports and have a beer. Always check the daily, hand written, specials in your menu!! I have always enjoyed whatever they can whip up!

By far my favorite restaurant in the state of RI! Absolutely the state's best kept secret too! Myself and my gf frequent this place just about every Friday post work. We're both in the food service/bar industry, so when Lucy(owner?/bartender) goes out of her way for her regular customers it shows! Its always a packed house around 8:30 on a Friday, but she manages to squeeze us in! The tap beers are always ice cold and the mixed drinks are always on point. Excellent New England clam chowder. The best menu items are the little necks with red sauce and linguica and the Portuguese style steak with rice and potatoes. I could literally eat here every day! Ask Lucy to make you an espresso martini. Scary good I tell ya!

I live right over the bridge fro the Red Bridge Tavern and any time I want a nice salad, that's the place. Chicken Creasar, chicken with blue cheese, walnuts and cranberries is my new favorite. Nice bar for hangout and food comes out fast and fresh. Must try.

I have been frequenting this spot for lunch lately with some coworkers. The menu is extensive and nothing I have tried has been dissapointing thus far. The best part is their daily lunch specials which range from salads topped with black bean salsa to red seafood chowder to a corned beef ruben with a twist. You can call ahead to hear the specials everyday on the answering machine. The other day I had the panko crusted buffalo shrimp over greek salad.....so good my only complaint is not enough shrimp as they only gave me four! They generally dont skimp so I was a bit dissapointed. They also have many authentic portuguese and seafood dishes which are very reasonably priced. Service is pretty good. We usually have the same waitress who is friendly but seems overwhelmed and distracted. Overall I absolutely would recommend Red Bridge!!

  • K T.

There's something to be said for good food done well and simply. Cornbread was great. No funky jalapenos or other things just good old cornbread. New england clam chowder was also very good. Kids got burgers that were great, only wish they had applesauce or mandarins since my kids dont do fries. I got the ribeye sandwich special and added some A1 and it was phenominal. My wife got the chicken alfredo with broccoli and it was also excellent. Waitresses were very friendly and attentive. If we lived closer we'd be regulars.

    (5)
  • Megan L.

Meh. As per usual. Went back. Cornbread was equally as amazing, but the night was slightly busier (as in about a dozen more people) and my steak tips were overdone, no magical sauce, fries were still good and my salad didn't have croutons. So not as good as the first time. But hey, the cornbread was still good!

I was turned on to this wonderful little joint by a local and have been coming back ever since. If you're in the mood, for delicious and often traditional and super fresh dinner and lunch fare at reasonable prices, this is the place to go. You won't be disappointed. Sometimes served with a Portuguese flair, the menu runs the gamut, from Prime Rib to fresh seafood, burgers, and much more! There are also a bunch of creative, daily specials. I had swordfish which came with homemade garlic mashed potatoes and a hearty serving of grilled, fresh asparagus. Yes...FRESH ASPARAGUS...all for $13.99! The atmosphere is down-to-earth. Paneled from ceiling to floor in knotty pine, it's reminiscent of a finished basement circa 1960. The waitstaff is super friendly and eager to please. My favorite piece of decor, besides the big flat screen TVs are two signs posted next to the full bar which warns patrons that "NO FOUL LANGUAGE" will be tolerated. I didn't realize how foul my language was, until I was forced to adhere! #$%!

Great atmosphere, fun, likable friendly staff and good food. What more can you ask for? It is cute inside, the food is good and reasonably priced. Full bar with a fairly decent beer selections. Good menu a lot of different choices. The waitress we had was fun, snarky sense of humor that made dinner that much more fun.

  • A Z.

I'd say 3.5 on this one, really because it's all traditional comfort food, but really well made. Was expecting a dive, but it's pretty modern inside, very clean, friendly, and the food we ordered was actually good! Pretty busy for a Friday afternoon, too if I do say so myself. My steak gorgonzola salad was loaded with fresh lettuce and bacon. My only complaint is that the salad was so HUGE they should serve it with more dressing. My boyfriend's bacon cheeseburger was also well received and our combo appetizer salad was surprisingly delish! Overall, I'd come back. They have some great mixed drink cocktails including some great Irish coffee concoctions I'd like to try.

The bistro burger was excellent but stay away from the seafood! A friend had clams and was up all night with food poisoning. Service was very slow.

Went on a Monday night, the place was mostly empty. Basic tavern decor. Clean, quiet. I had the Clam Chowder, the thickest soup I have ever eaten. With no exaggeration, you could (an I did) stand a spoon in it. My main dish was the Seafood Zuppa, a tasty, garlicky dish served over pasta. Ample amounts of clam in the shell, scallops, shrimp and calamari. Very good, very large portion. The meal was served with your choice of a basket of Italian bread or corn bread. We got both and both were good. The waitress was a nice young lady but a little absent minded as she forgot my clam chowder and forgot the drink of one of my dining companions. Price was good, about $20 bucks per person, though we are not much by way of drinkers so there was only one beer in that tab. All in all I would certainly make this a regular stop if I lived in the area.

  • Carlos R.

Here we have the trifecta, great food, good service, good prices. It is a gem that is right next door that we should have become regulars long ago. Food is very good and specials are fantastic though they could use a computer to print it legibly and nicer rather than the usual hand written sheet of paper. The only complaint I have is with one of my favorite dishes, Portuguese Steak, it usually has way too much garlic and I love garlic. Oh and my wife cant get enough of the fantastic corn bread they offer with the delicious crispy crust bread and butter. Other than that its usually a quick delicious meal and an occasional drink with a bit of fun banter. If prices were a little lower, we would probably eat there every night.

I honestly have been here a bunch of times and have had fairly decent experiences that was not the case today. We arrives an had an hour wait. Once we sat down it took an hour and a half for our food to arrive. They need to up their game big time.

My wife and i wanted to go some place different. We planned a "date night" (w/ith no kids) so i suggested the Red Bridge Tavern based on your reviews below. Cozy place to eat. My wife ordered a salad and pizza. The salad had fresh greens and it was a descent portion. Her pizza was a thin crust and was cooked perfect. I ordered a burger and fries. The burger was flame broiled and huge. It was really juicy and tasty. I'm a burger fan and i would definitely order this again. Service was great too. So if you're looking something different check out the Red Bridge Tavern. It's one block off of I-195 Taunton Ave exit.. A+

I've been going to Red Bridge for about a year now and really enjoy it. Their food is very well made, sometimes it's better than others depending on the cook. There is a bar and a table area. The staff are nice and if you get a chance to meet the owners who are the cook and waitress/bar they are great. If you go to the Tavern often they may even start to learn what you drink! I really enjoy their Buffalo Chicken Wrap and Fish & Chips. They have specials which are great as well and worth checking out. The pasta dishes are a hit or miss. Some have too much sauce and drown, were others are perfect. They have a small parking lot and street parking, so if you go when it's really busy you may have trouble with parking.

These rave reviews are curious to me. I ate my food, and the interior was entirely adequate, but nothing stood out. Actually, one thing I recall quite vividly. The lady bartender wore the tightest pants I've seen in daylight hours. Maybe I should add a star. Prices were slightly higher than I expected for lunch.

I saw better than average reviews for this place & I was excited that I had finally found that diamond in the rough I was looking for. I didn't. I had been looking for a place near my home (5 miles) that had some great seafood dishes like steamers, chowder, zuppa like you get on the hill but priced for the working man. This place has all that on the menu but the execution failed. My girlfriend & I ate here for my fathers day dinner & decided to order several differant items to share. We had stuffies, chowder, steamers, a cuban & a steak sandwich, both with onion rings. The stuffies had good flavor no problem there. The chowder although creamy had very few clams in it, was WAY too salty & the potatoes weren't cooked through. The steamers had a very tasty broth, very spicy as were the stuffies. We luv spice so that was a plus for us. The clams were cooked well and all were open. The linquica was neither thin sliced nor cooked through & had just been tossed in there. FAIL. The cuban tasted of greasy dirty griddle and that was confirmed as the roll was soaked through & dripping; a soggy mess. It also had peppers on it that were not marinated or cooked down, thrown on & chewy. The steak sandwich ordered medium rare was too thick to actually eat on bread & was over cooked medium well. The onion rings appeared to be frozen & had no flavor to them. That was the food now the service. You walk in, see a sign that says, WAIT to be seated. We waited, no one came. The bartender/waitress yelled from behind the bar to seat ourselves. Rachel (?) came over to our table, making some attempt to be pleasent & gave us our menus. After giving her our order she returned quickly with chowder for my girlfriend and forgot mine. I spotted her hanging at the bar with a male patron so I walked over to her to politely let her know I had ordered a chowder also. No apology, just a dirty look & she asked me to return to my table where she would bring my chowder. She brought my chowder, apologized & made a VERY strong attempt going forward to correct her brief, but rude behavior. I asked for bread to dip in the steamer broth & she actually brough us corn bread & some fresh sliced italian bread. The bar got very busy, that seems to be the bulk of their business, drinkers not eaters & Rachel working alone began to fall behind. We waited 15-20 mins to get our check but Rachel was clearly running to try & keep up. My girlfriend & I rated our experience on the way home. Overall I gave it a 6.5 & my girl gave it a 5. So there you are. More into drinking than eating. There were plenty of seats at the bar. Seemed like a real locals crowd. More older than younger, 50's-60's, with a couple of guy shooting pool in the adjacent game room. Looks like I am back looking for my Federal Hill alternative. If you have one close to Riverside, help me out!!!

May not look good from outside, but go inside. The food tastes great. The menu consists of classic American fare. The service was good .The place is kind of small but it has character. The interior has a homey feel, pictures of the old bridge decorate the walls. I would recommend it.

If you want a great home cooked meal, super drinks and the best service give the Red Bridge Tavern a try. Do yourself a favor and order from the "specials menu" and try anything. You will be pleased. Manny and Lucy provide an atmosphere that is tough to beat and the rest of the staff alway make it a great time.

In dire need of burgers and beer, we scoured Yelp for a good spot. Red Bridge jollied us right out of our mid-week slump. The Tavern is clearly a neighborhood staple. It was packed with locals: families eating dinner, men drinking beer, women of all ages commiserating over iced tea. We grabbed a table and our friendly waitress supplied us with Blue Moon and Newport Storm, both on tap. We both had burgers, which came out cooked exactly as requested, smothered with decadent toppings, and accompanied by fantastic fries (both regular and sweet potato). Although we were stuffed, my soul craved dessert, so we split a slice of peanut butter pie, and staggered home cheered and sated. We'll definitely be back to try the assortment of seafood specials, which smelled divine.
